The Army brought Cheryl and her family to Columbia when Aaron was stationed as a chaplain at Fort Jackson in late 2011. When Aaron was medically retired from the Army, the family decided to make South Carolina home. They stay busy on a homestead farm up the road from CIU with their two teenage

daughters, three cats, two dogs, one rabbit, 50ish chickens, twelve goats, and large garden. Cheryl would read on her back porch all day long, with breaks for cooking and baking, if life allowed.

Cheryl has served in church nurseries in various ways and in many different churches since she was in elementary school and helped her mother care for the church’s youngest family members. She feels strongly that serving in the nursery is a ministry opportunity, both to the children in our care and to their families
