Micah McCoy
Youth Minister
Originally from Statesville, North Carolina, Micah came to Columbia to attend school at Columbia International University. During his time there, he earned a BA in Bible as well as a BS in Business Administration. Most importantly, he also met his wife, Abigail, at CIU and they have stayed in Columbia ever since.
On the worship at Apostles, Micah notes that "it seamlessly weaves the beauty and depth of the historic Christian tradition with the eternal and unchanging Word to speak with relevance and clarity into our present time." Micah's passion is for students to be transformed by that worship so they can be captivated by the majesty of Christ, joyful at His presence, and united in fellowship and love with one another.
His favorite sport is whatever he is currently playing (but it helps if it involves a frisbee). He also enjoys theater, singing, playing the piano, board games, and reading a fine book on a not-so-fine day.
Abigail McCoy
Assistant Youth Minister
Abigail is from Hickory, North Carolina, and came to Columbia to attend Columbia International University, where she received a BS in Intercultural Studies and a BA in Bible. She also received her TESOL certificate, and now teaches ESL to adults part-time here in Columbia. She and her husband Micah met at CIU and have made Columbia home. Abigail also received her Master's in Care and Counseling from CIU in 2021.
Her desire is for youth to be firmly rooted in their relationship with Christ and in the church so that they can be equipped to be a light to our world. She is passionate about discipleship and missions, and has loved volunteering with the youth at Apostles and now in an official capacity.
Abigail enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, ultimate frisbee, painting, and cooking (and eating) international food.
