Director of parish life
Jeannie was born in Lexington, Kentucky, but considers Columbia her hometown. She has been at the University of South Carolina since 1989 and served as the House Manager and Event coordinator for the President’s House and currently for the Koger Center for the Arts. She teaches a variety of courses at USC, many of which she has created and designed such as “Sustainability in Iceland” (taught in Iceland!) and “Broadway: LIVE!” (showcasing the many exciting shows at the Koger Center).
A member of our parish since 2015, Jeannie considers Church of the Apostles her family. As such, she is always planning events and fun things for everyone to do. Her love of friendship and passion for learning fuels her work with the Women’s Ministry. She also works with Carol Moskel, Parish Administrator, on church-wide communication.
Knowing that God has a place for everyone to play and serve, Jeannie’s mission is to help you become involved with jobs from washing carrots, listening at a woman’s Bible study, handing out ice cream to kids, or greeting guests at Second Wednesday. She is sensitive to the unique gifts of both introverts and extroverts, and helps them to find places they can flourish.
Jeannie has an extraordinary Korat named Lola and enjoys cooking and reading.
